Philosophy..what exactly do you do with this major/job title

I know a guy that was a Philosophy major in college. I've been feeling rather philosophical lately and wonder what became of him. I'm guessing he's selling insurance or teaching high school history.

There's just not the demand for a modern-day Socrates like there used to be.

Your major means little for many positions as you learn it all on the job. I was an "antropology" major and now I do executive compensation consulting. Basically we get paid to advise a Company's Board of Directors on how to design the executive pay packages, especially the incentive plans (bonus, equity, etc). We get paid to tell people how much to pay each other!

I did take stats, econ, accounting, etc. though...
